November 8, 2004 - New living and sleeping quarters needed

Brazil has recently changed it's regulations aimed at protecting the welfare of children. Under the new regulations, children in the Home that are under 12 must have separate living and sleeping quarters from those over the age of 12.

To comply with these regulatory changes, the Home must urgently build four new young-children group homes, each with a house-mother for up to 10 children of a similar age. The current facility, built to house up to 80 children in a dormitory fashion will then accommodate only the 12 and older children.

The first small-children group home is already under construction and is expected to be completed early in 2005. The remaining three group homes, with help from the Lord, will be built as soon as funding and missions volunteers become available and teams can be organized.
